The screenplay: more small steps.

'If you are born into the artists tribe you have to be faithful to the artists vision...'
Lawrence Durrell via Roger Housden.

I would add : if you are born into the artists tribe, you don't have a choice, you have to create.

'Inspire others to question how we live...art is a process of spiritual awakening.'
Roger Housden.

This is part of the essence of Shifra's story.

'The secret of Life is to have a task, something you devote your entire life to, something you bring everything to, every minute of every day for your whole life. And the most important thing is it must be something you cannot possibly do.'
Henry Moore, Sculptor.

I'm challenged in some ways by the last quote. Are you ?

But, it's rich material for a film story. Shifa's artistic life after the abduction of her precious baby becomes obsessive and solitary, until she starts her new life in Bolivia where she finds her artists tribe amongst underprivileged children.

Roger's website : www.rogerhousden.com. Very interesting.

  1. You know Meg at first I thought no I wasn't challenged by the last quote but as ever upon deeper reflection, a sprinkle of truth and honesty and looking at it again I realised of course I am challenged by it. Logically I know that is the secret to life, emotionally it is more difficult to take the continuous small steps, no matter what. As creative souls we know creativity must be a way of life, the hard part is allowing it to flow when we feel disjointed or fragmented. Difficult. Eric Maisel has some wonderful stuff for writers and artists. Hope it is going strong for you...x
